violet coagulations

Lying in her long veils and falling with the waters
A little wild ray of light that runs blue with fair hair
pours burning love beautiful as snow
like dragonflies threading! framed by a small branch.

On the blue summer evenings by the wave
- of worlds on a journey, stars spring in the moss
To the evening breeze away in endless flight
- from violet forests: where the stars are sleeping.

Lying in her long veils, and falling with the waters
into the deep ocean at times she rouses
mount in my soul unfathomable space

I cared nothing for all, for shadow-flowers with their
of sour apples pale-eyed a flock of doves
trembled to feel, long violet coagulations.

by Mami & Arthur Rimbaud
